Title: Coilovers help
Post by: DomBacon on January 19, 2014, 12:30:56 am
I'm currently running some fk high sports on my ed30. The fronts are a bit to bouncy for my liking but I didn't put the helper springs in, would this help stiffen them up a bit?
Any help would be very appreciated!

Are you certain the springs are "bouncy"...or is the ride bouncy?
A Bouncy ride is often mistaken for weak springs when actually stiff springs cause that sensation.
You need to test the bounce...push down on one corner and see if it continues to bounce or if it raises slowly.
Chances are are that the springs are too stiff and the "helper springs" would soften the ride.

Tried that already mate, fronts really bouncy, not even that low and I cracked my front splitter already! On my old car I had gaz gold coilovers and had them as stiff as they would go but this is completely different :(

In need of some FK users then...I guess.
Would be a bad thing if your coil's springs and dampers were that poorly matched.

Try to increase the spring preload, that will help for start...
