Hey guys, having a very disconcerting issue with my car recently. Driving along at night with headlights on, push the stalk away from me for main beam and nothing happens momentarily then the main beams come on. It started a week or 2 ago and is starting to annoy me now. Sometimes nothing happens until I flick the switch again, sometimes they're fine for long periods of time. I think it's an issue with the stalk and the blue high beam light doesn't come on the dash unless they are on. Also I remember seeing something in the cars history about the cruise stalk malfunctioning and being replaced.
Does anybody have any idea what it could be? Or how costly it may be to sort out?
Many thanks, Pete

Nobody?

Most likely a dodgy stalk. Not a massive PITA to replace, a replacement stalk shouldn't cost more than £70. Drop Eddie-NL a line as he can normally get them at a reasonable price :)

probs a stalk is at fault

Have it checked out with VCDS to the steering wheel controller to see if the stalk is sending the correct signals.
See if anyone is local to you

Bloody hell! £70 for the stalk? Robbing barstewards!
I'll get it vagcom'd ASAP.
I also thought it may be the spiral under the wheel. Or slip ring as I think some people know it

EDDIE-NL should be able to provide one cheaper. Like others, I have bought stalks from him in the past and would highly recommend him :happy2:
