Title: footwell lighting
Post by: njdudsbury on January 21, 2014, 09:59:58 pm
Anybody got these. Do they look smart or a bit too much? Also which is best to have them wired so they come on with lights or just with the interior lights?

I have similar in my Tiguan, with the strips cut into sections of 9 white SMD bulbs. They give a nice light, but I think other colours look crap.

(They are actually the same colour, picture doesn't quite catch that).

They take a feed/ground from the front footwells, same as a mk5. If you don't have front footwells it is easy to buy a kit with the repair wire to take a feed from the CECM so it is all akin to a factory install.

By the way you are better with a kit like ebay 281158453719 and some W5W LED bulbs as you will have all four partitions for them to sit in and it comes with all the wires to do it properly. Or maybe Eddie-NL still makes up them.

I only used the adhesive ones as my Tig rears don't have  a usable cutout for a light holder.
