Thinking of spacing the wheels out on my ed30. The car is lowered on FK highsports.
What would be the best width spacers to use front and rear?
-
10mm front and 15mm rear IMO.
Will be fine re clearance and will give you a nice stance too. :happy2:
-
Can anyone recommend any?
Will I need longer wheel bolts for 10-15mm spacers?
-
Yes you'll need longer bolts. Whatever the size of the spacers is the extra length of the bolts. Get some H&R Hubcentric spacers, IIRC they supply bolts too.
Contact Alex at AKS who is/was running a GB on H&R products......

Will 20mm spacers go ok on the rear with a 225 tyre?
-
I used to run 20 on the back and 15 on the front, looked awesome but it did scrub especially when getting on it.
-
I've gone for 15mm for the rear! Got a set of H+Rs for a good price!
-
I've just put 19's on this morning...think alot will depend on the tyre width wont it?
-
I wrote a wheel fitment guide which answers your queries.
It's not just how low you are but what wheels you have, what size tyres, how wide those size of tyres are (as not all tyres of a given width are actually the given width...) etc.

I read it a few weeks back, really useful knowledge: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=72922.0
