Title: Led bulbs
Post by: Adam-golf on January 27, 2014, 02:21:01 pm
I'm interested to fit led bulbs to replace my standard bulbs in my rear lights and indicators in my front,

Just interested to know if anybody has done this and if they have come across any problems.

I realise that I would have to buy canbus led's.

Also where was your led's where purchased from?

Any help would be much appreciated

Adam

***We have recently found out that some MK5's have an extra bulb in the front map light.

We think this could be just certain years of the TDI models that have 3 bulbs instead of 2, but please check.

If so you MUST inform Matt on your email, and order 1 extra 36mm Festoon LED.

Big thanks to Dodds-GTtdi for the info***

Followed this guide for the install.

Hope this helps.

Sorry should of said that I'm looking to replace my exterior light bulbs!

Great price for all the interior though, only replaced mine a few months back but I didn't pay as little as that for them!

Nightmare to change map lights in mine.

I've done one can't squeeze the other in.
Going to have to take the whole panel off grrrr

Plus I have a light between the map lights where the is some kind of mental clip that holds the bulb in place and
I can't work out how it goes back in grrr

Could anyone recommend rear light bulbs or indicator bulbs? I'm after some too. :)
Cheers.

Seen Osram rear LED light and reverse lights on the links below. Seem to remember someone on here having the bold-sport LEDs fitted but cant for the life of me remember who!

Autobulbs direct seem alright where you can just put in your reg and find whatever bulbs you want. Had this in mind to be done but just havent had a proper look as yet. Hope this helps!

Did you just replace the reverse light pal or did you do the full works?

Only the reverse light. Was going to do the lot but didn't in the end.
