Title: ED30 cat back exhaust same as standard GTI?

Before I buy it, I just wanted to be 100% sure that a ED30 cat back exhaust system is identical to a standard GTI. Surely it is?

Yes, the system fits the same.

This link to online parts catalogue says item2 1K6 253 609 BG - is the same for both standard and ED30 engines

The ED30 back box is ST/ST

the standard GTI is mild steel.

but they both fit the same cars.

I've got a 08 plate gti and the standard back box was stainless when I took it off , there the exact same exhaust,the normal gti's back box is NOT mild steel
