Title: Valeo rear lights LED ring replacement success
Post by: Melkiy on January 29, 2014, 04:06:05 am
Well I've goty self valeo led rear light for about £150 about 6 months ago with just 3 faulty led on both sides. So I found some passat light on ebay for £25. So smashed all the passat light and took the ring out and today I've replaced the ring, took about 1.5 hour to replace one side but it works perfect. Forgot to take a video before and after just now I did only one driver side and the one on the left still faulty. Will do the socond one as soon I get up as this been done at 1:30am just need some tape and seal it as there is a hole on the side of the light witch surprisingly doesn't effect the arms that the light fixed to the body. Proper DIY job. If you don't know what you doing please don't bother doing it your self

Will make a video in the morning before and after.

Well now what ever happens with LEDs I can just buy cheap led rears from jetta or passat and easily replace the LEDs. Just need to feel the hole with something water proof and tape it up

Thanks for reading  :happy2:

Can anyone provide any detail on how you extract the led ring from the Passat light cluster? And also how you remove the led ring from the valeo unit? Does the Passat led ring plug straight into the Valeo unit?

Thanks
