What are they up to?
First the Polo R was confirmed.
Then the Golf R Evo was all but confirmed.
Now VW are going to offer the manual gearbox on a Polo GTI!!!
Could this mean an end to the 1.4 Twin charged unit? Possibly replaced by something else?!?
-
They scrapped the Up GT :sad1:
That was a bad decision
-
Maybe a real man runs the show now so wants non of this crappy auto rubbish in his performance cars :signLOL: well it's nice to have the option anyway
-
Twin charged engine will be dropped.
-
Reports are also suggesting a power hike from 177bhp to 189bhp.

I was genuinely gutted to hear this. Thought it would be an ideal 'run-around' for the wife in a couple of years time.
There are certain cars that guys should not buy/drive/ But if it's the wife's car and you occasionally take it out to the shops for a spin, then it's OK.

VW just announced a minor facelift for the Polo. My guess is that the new gearbox, engine and power hike will come with the 'new' Polo GTI.

I know, that's where the story of the manual box originates from.

The new Polo R looks a cracker. Basically a de-tuned Golf R engine with 4WD. Rumoured to be £21-22k
Could be a bit of a bargain?
