I've been using them since I got my GTI a few years ago and a lot more often since I bought my TDI **cough** LEMON to save money which has ended up needed everything bar the ashtray replacing. Fantastic service by genuine enthusiasts - The best VAG specialists around Northampton IMO :happy2:

That's what I wanted to do bud, but when I spoke to Evan at APR, he said they had moved there "European office" to Germany!! That sucks! So uk one is closed.

Cheers for the reassurance! They seem like genuine enthusiasts, so hopefully can find a trusted, fairly local garage to look after me!

APR told me to go to VRS, with a completely immobile car. Then I got a hard time from APR for not going to their place in MK after it had closed.

I wonder if the likes of Awesome GTI will revert back to REVO now.

I'd imagine it depends on which way the fanboy/scene/flavour of the month tuner wind blows...?

Why?

APR still exists, the main European office has just moved to Germany, it changes nothing. They came to the UK setup a dealer network, and now they are planning on doing the same in Europe.

As for revo's current situation, I don't think awesome GTI or AMD will take them back anytime soon

Is it Groundhog day already.   I seem to remember this happening last time a couple of years ago.
Surely they have to get permission from the MK council to shut the Graveyard down. Where is everyone going to take their blown up engines now.  :sad1:

Anyway back on topic, vrs Northampton is run by Will, great guy, loads of experience building big turbo cars etc be it new models or old.

Very good with attention to detail you are lucky if he's your local agent

Order a fuel pump whilst you're there. Their latest stage 2 + map they just updated again is really impressive.

Why did awesome switch to APR?
Title: Re: VRS Northampton, any experience guys?
Post by: AndrewJB on February 02, 2014, 11:37:55 pm
Awesome was APR originally, Then switched to REVO around 2008-2009 and switched back to APR in 2012 or 2013

Why did awesome switch to APR?

Because obviously the APR profit margin was better than the REVO one. There is no other reason than that... dont care what anyones says!

Actually Revo profit margin per map sold is higher.

Why did AMD and Awesome leave Revo?

Well there's several reasons.

Current Product range
Future product range
One company investing heavily for the future
One company currently in turmoil

Revo in turmoil... tell us more.

Pulling out of the UK (again) isnt exactly investing in the future of UK tuning is it.

They haven't pulled out of the UK....Keith still has staff in the country and more agents than ever, arguably two of the biggest VAG agents at that and one of the bigger Traditionally jap tuners has become an agent too.

I wasn't aware a company required a headquarters in every country they want to do business to operate.

As for Revo I'm not going to tell you all about their dirty laundry as it doesn't concern me nor have anything to do with me, plus you give off a major vibe of being a person that's schadenfreude with a lot of your posts.

....and then say you are not going to air their dirty laundry... you just did.

Schadenfreude? I just call it havin' a laugh. When my car blows up you can laugh at me all you want.

Also.. if the turmoil is that bad, I'd rather like to know to be honest, as Im sure many other people on here would. If they are up to something so awful, we should know right?

As Jason says they haven't pulled out of this country. Just moved the European HQ from MK to Germany.

Still plenty of dealers around.

Nothing to do with APR at all I don't think Revo affairs interest them anymore tbh.

I've know will a very long time and can't fault vrs at all. They sorted me out with some 3sdms at a very good rate last year.
