cheapest i would say would be a HELIX uprated clutch on your duel mass flywheel approx £500..... most reliable i would say is the single mass flywheel and uprated clutch at £900! which i have just done

Cheapest most reliable

When it comes to clutches generally the cheapest are NOT the most reliable.
Invest in quality parts.

Yes Alex is a good guy.

Just for reference, I've booked in my car to a local VW specialist to have my clutch replaced with a Sachs SRE kit - been quoted £1000 - £1100 supply and fit.  Clutch only, leaving factory flywheel as I don't want to suffer the vibration/noise issues associated with a single-mass flywheel.

Have you driven or owned a car with an SMF?

£1100 for just a clutch fitted, holy sh$t!

Mate get a standard Luk or Sachs of ebay, take it round to your local indi and have them fit it, £500 max! My local indi fitted a new clutch my CTR for £70, the clutch cost £120 of ebay, no issues.

Surly you dont need a race clutch for a stage 1? Stage 2 onwards yeah.

As its a stage 1 mapped car and is already slipping I would replace with a helix clutch and new dual mass flywheel , I spoke to Alex yesterday and he went through my requirements and the above came up best... Price was £780 shipped plus fitting

I have a friend who may be selling the below clutch, its brand new, never installed.

SRE Performance Clutch Kit with Mass fly wheel and Central slave cylinder made by SACHS its marked for a MK6, not sure if it MK5. (maybe Alex can confirm)

Part number : 883089.000047 - Think he only wants around £500-£600

If its a MK6 with the TSi engine then they have an 8 bolt crank.  The TFSi has a 6 bolt crank so the flywheel wont cross over.

i fitted my helix clutch with SMF yesterday and the noise/vibration was no where near as bad as i thought it was going to be!! no more DMF for me in the future!!
