Title: iPhone connection with RCD 300
Post by: tom619 on February 01, 2014, 01:20:11 pm
Hi everyone

I recently bought myself a nice 56 plate 2.0 GT TDI, which only came with an RCD300 stereo and the armrest too but no changer.

Just wondering what the best solution is for me to connect my iPhone 5 for charging and playing back?

Seen a few of these MDI Kits for sale but not sure how they work.

Any info would be great.

Thanks :)

Connects2 kits are great. About £60 and not hard to fit  :happy2:

I bought mine from eBay

Think the MDI kits will only work with the rcd510 & rns510.

Really? So there is no official way to connect an iPhone to the rcd300?

The iPod Dock in the arm rest can go some way to achieving this. With the right adaptor, it charged my 4s and allowed playback (tricks the stereo into thinking it's a CD changer.

I have since moved to an RCD 510 with MDI Dock which works much better and has a cable for iphone 5 if required.

Been looking at the connects 2 kit in the ebay link provided.

As I have an iphone 5, I presume I would also need the 30 pin to lightning connector as well?

Thanks
