Title: Helper springs in or out?
Post by: munny on February 04, 2014, 07:56:44 pm
Hi guys fitting fk silverline coilovers to my mk5 gti tommorow and was just wondering if leaving the helper springs out on the front makes any difference in terms of ride quality? Reason i ask is a mate has highsports on his gti with helpers in wound all the way down on the front but would like it lower and easiest way would be to remove the helper springs to get that bit lower but i dont want to loose ride quality by removing them. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You won't lose any ride quality, the helper spring is only there to keep the spring seated when jacked up

I removed mine and the ride is fine
