So a while back i got a votex bumper off ebay for cheap. Main reason being was that it was missing the bottom insert and it was warped in places. A few blasts of the heat gun made it straight again!
As it was minus the insert and i couldn't locate one i thought i'd have a play around. Decided id recreate that missing piece with my own twist.
Made a frame out of mdf and screwed it together

Came out better than i thought. The next thing i did was get some fleece and fibreglass resin. Covered the fram with the fleece and painted the resin on. Left it for a day to go hard.

Still needs work but its getting there. The plan is to use this as a mould and then make a carbon fibre piece from it. What do you guys think?
