Title: Butt dyno my car please? West Midlands.
Post by: Shaw on February 08, 2014, 11:57:01 am
Bought a GTi 2 months back and can't decide if it's remapped or not. Are there any GTi owners out there who would like to do a little comparison? Ideally either a standard car or a stage 1. Manual.

Cheers!

Ok. The response wasn't great.

Anybody have any ideas on how to check for a remap? :D

It feels faster than I expected it to feel and had some subtle chrome sill kick plates so I suspect it was previously owned by an enthusiast.

Reluctant to take it to rtech until I know what I already have.

Where about in the West Midlands Voorhees?

Download the Torque App, and buy a very cheap bluetooth OBD modual, ELM27 varient. From this you can view and log the boost pressure, stock is around 13psi i beleive for a healthy engine.

Mine peaks around 12-13 and is pulling 5 or 6 by the redline.

You can check the air mass reading at full throttle in 3rd to get a rough idea of horse power, take the highest reading,  maf reading should be in g/s, and divide it by 0.8 to get your horsepower
