Just got some used Monza Alloys which I am 90% sure are reps as they went quite cheap but seller was a garage and wanted a quick sale so wasn't sure.
However how do you check if you have genuine Monzas as I may as well have a look and confirm that they are likely reps

You can easily tell by checking the back of the wheel for stamps from VW, or BBS, made in German, VW part numbers, etc.
They are all ET51 you should be able to see this as well..

Genuine BBS 18" Monza alloy wheels as fitted to Golf Gti Mk5 Mk6.
Brand - BBS/RONAL
Part number - 1K0601025AM
Rim Width - 7.5j
Offset - 51
If there 17" there the same brand, rim width & offset.

Yeah just checked and says made by PRC I think so reps as i thought.
Gonna slap them on the car and give it a spin to check everything feels okay.
When I get them properly on car after a refurb can I put them on myself or do I need a garage to do so they can balance and get the tracking correct?

Garage job to get them back on the car balanced properly
If you are getting them refurbed aint the oem monzas diamond cut?

Okay well I have popped them on the car to give them a run around to check they are okay.
I am not taking them somewhere to get refurbed but doing it myself. The only damage on them is the kerbing around most of the edges on all wheels and then the white worm on the front but by the sounds of it this will be sorted once sand/fill and take the top coat off to get ready to paint again.
They aint OEM Alloys but reps as when checked it said made by PRC or PRS and not BBS or Ronal.
