Hey all I've been living in Germany for the past 7 years and recently found out I'm moving to the UK (RAF Mildenhall) in March or April.
I drive a 2008 US spec GTI. United Grey.
APR Stg 2+
Airlift XL + accuair e-level management
Currently roll on Rotiform NUE's. Some of my cooler pics are of an old wheel setup. They were Work Equip M1 and were a little extreme....Fun while they lasted but I needed something a bit more practical.
Anyway I look forward to seeing what the UK Dub scene is all about. Honestly Germany has disappointed me a bit in the scene department.
Too much talk and not enough pics :)
As it sits right now

Still need to get my notch fixed up (it wasn't made big enough on the first attempt) but this shot shows some of the smoothed up bits (us markers/bumper strips)

Anyways hope I get to meet some of you at some upcoming shows. I just bought myself a pair of OEM euro LED tails and I hope they are legal in the UK!

This car is just beautiful
-
Really nice mate.
Equips sat beautifully! What happened to them?
Hope to see you over in the UK soon!
-
That's just stunning! Welcome on board. :drinking:
Euro OEM LED's (Valeo's) are perfectly fine, I've had mine for a few years.
:happy2:
-
Thanks for the kind words
Unfortunately I had a moment of weakness and I sold them.. I've repeatedly tried to contact the guy in the states that I sold them to and can't get an answer. I really want them back honestly! I probably wouldn't roll on them daily as I did before. But yeah...I need something else, the Rotiforms are kind of :MEH: to me.

Perfect that makes me feel much better since I just had to drop 260 euro on them from the dealer! I would hate to give them back. I am required as a US Air force guy to get my car inspected locally so is there anything I should know regarding air suspension and the laws there?
-
Welcome :happy2:
car looks amazing and in the best colour
-
Of course this is totally unbiased
-
I'll look forward to seeing this at a few shows this season. Try and get those wheels back :P
-
that looks amazing!
good work!
-
being on this site has made me miss those wheels even more. I hadn't looked at those pictures in a while! I even contacted the owner of the wheels (no reply yet!!!) I want to know if they are up for sale again :)
-
Hope they are otherwise you'll have to buy them brand new
-
welcome to the forum...golf is excellent
-
Welcome! Nice GTI :driver: lots of nice long straight roads to stretch her legs
Just a heads up.... http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/road-projects/a11-fiveways-to-thetford-improvement/?maps :fighting:

So I picked up the LED tails (OEM) and I plan on wiring them up and making them work to euro spec (rear fog light) and the turn signals will be amber. Is this in accordance with UK laws for lighting? Also some people have told me that I might have to aim my headlights the opposite direction and I'm not positive that is even possible on the MKV. I know you can aim up/down manually/automatically but left/right? Are the headlight assemblies different on UK spec cars than the US/Euro specs?
Just trying to get everything in order so I can get there and have the car registered w/out hassle. I hope they are air ride friendly too!! :driver:

answered my own question about the head lights :) Google is my friend!

The people are air ride friendly but the roads aren't :scared:
