Anyone know any good repair shops for an RNS unit please? Personal recommendations, places you've used or heard good reports about etc.
Cheers.

Hazzydayz Or there's a cheaper option in daventry

This is the person I used in daventry

I've used Eddie-NL to repair couple of units for me at very competitive price!

I've spoken to this guy at length. He's a real genuine good egg, but unfortunately he can't repair my unit as it's a DAB RNS.
Having looked everywhere on the web for a repair solution, the only place where I can get it done for less than £400 is Poland.
-
I know these offer some support for repairing the RNS510

Worth a try since it's DAB unit!

you broke it already

It was delivered broke mate. Informed the seller on Ebay. Case opened and waiting for him to see sense. :rolleye:

GPS isn't finding any satellites.

From a puck or roof mount?

It's not the GPS antenna. It's the RNS510. I have two others sat here which both work fine on my factory fit GPS antenna, and the one I just bought doesn't.
-
Oh dear! Wish you luck there then. :happy2:
-
Aye, we'll see.
I'll update as and when.

I've found a place who can effect a repair for €150 plus return shipping, and I'm claiming that back from the seller. I'd rather have it sent off and repaired than start poking about in something which costs neck end of a months wages. :happy2:

Have you spoken to hazzydayz?

One for sale in the classifieds. :happy2:

Ay length, yes. They're unable to supply a DAB variant GPS board, but may be able to effect a repair.
-
Well, it would appear that the Ebay seller has finally seen sense and agreed to a return and refund. :rolleye: So he can have his buggered RNS510 back, and sell it to some other guy. Just going through the official stuff to agree a return, then it's away. So the problem is no more it would appear.
Thanks for all the suggestions and offers. :happy2:
-
probably for the best

Well, despite saying a couple of times that he'll finally accept a return, he's not clicked the button to authorise it through the Ebay case, so I can't actually send it back yet. Case deadline is tomorrow, after which I can escalate it to a claim. Apparently he wants guarantees that the unit I send back is the same working one he sent to me as there's a lot of fraud on Ebay doing this sort of thing.....
Good grief... :rolleye:
-
Escalated it to a claim, Ebay Resolutions looked at it and immediately sent me a very nice email with a prepaid returns label, asking me to send it back at their expense. Once he has it back, they'll issue me a full refund for all costs.
The guy's an idiot, so beware buying off Ebay and a seller calling himself climaxcars in Nottingham. Proper shifty character.
