Title: gti takes ages to heat up

Hi, has anyone come across this problem or is it just a cartisic of the car, its takes a long time for the car to get to the right temperature any help please?

Fairly common problem, I haven't came across it yet so can't elaborate much, usually the thermostat is on it's way out.

Someone will be along to correct me soon if I'm wrong.

Ready my sticky as above. Mine was like that. Now it's to temp in a couple of miles. Easy fix. Take an hour or two max

General question, are the coolant temp sensors in the same place on a 1.9tdi
I know there's one just above the gearbox , are there anymore on this engine
