Any ideas on a part number? and/or price for an Edition 30 multi function steering wheel?
Wanting to work out if it's worth buying a MFSW and then selling my standard Ed30 wheel.
-
ISnt it somewhere around £300 mark. I replaced My Passat DSG wheel with a MFSW, and my bill was around that figure.
Did someone recently add the Buttons etc to a Non MFSW recently?. Might be cheaper Lee.
-
Unfortunately you can't Steve :(
I popped the airbag off to look and the normal wheel isn't as deep and the "blanks" where the buttons go don't allow the buttons to be fitted.
I bought a 2nd hand "normal" GTI mfsw but want to keep the OEM red stitching look really.

I think it was Deako, drop him a PM, very helpful!
You could try Ebay.de as they often pop on there, might be cheaper than the dealers?
-
Alternatively...
Does anyone have a "MANUAL EDITION 30" that had the MFSW as standard.
I would like to "borrow" your chassis number so the dealer can enter it into the computer to get the part number as would be fitted from standard.
Basically, by putting my chassis number into his computer he could only pull up the nonMFSW wheel for the Ed30 :(

You have a PM :happy2:

Keep us posted on the price for this (without revealing anyones details)^^^^^, as I'd be interested in this mod if it is sensibly priced. I really do miss this MFSW as I had one in my Leon.

i was under the impression you could just add the controls onto the GTI wheel with the right loom, and the buttons obviously

Only a DSG wheel.

Found it in ETKA, will post the details after my diner

I think what is confusing your local parts guy is that the version for the manual cars isn't described as a "sports" wheels, but the code A8H indicates it is.
Here is the DSG version: -

Would love one to match the other edition 30 interior bits on my car if i end up keeping it, but no way would i pay dealer prices.
-
Thanks Steve :happy2:
Am I right in thinking I need a little airbag cable too? It sits between the airbag and the buttons right?
-
yes mate, thats only about £25
