Title: ROYAL MAIL - USELESS! Receipt query.
Post by: Veee-dubber on February 11, 2014, 05:04:05 pm
Anyone had any difficulties with Royal Mail lately?

I posted to parcels with them last month & both are still to arrive at the destination so are no doubt lost!

I posted one of the parcels on the 28th January and as of the 17th of February it is considered lost allowing me to make a claim, my question is: will an invoice serve as adequate proof of its value or is there a way to print an actual receipt via Paypal?

Does anyone know how long it will be before they process my claim and pay out?

Got a holiday booked end of the month & I need the funds back :(

was it an ebay item? if so they will refund the sold value if you provide item number for listing, if not ebay you can try providing the paypal transaction/invoice

I've sold a few things on ebay recently and had to return a few items and the royal mail was coming in at £15 a parcel 2nd class. Went on parcel2go website, next day delivery with yodel £8.10  for the same items and they collect from you!! so no queuing at the post office.

I had a letter through, special delivery. Odd as we normally get our post around 11am and it was there when I came downstairs at 8:30.

Enclosed within, words to the effect that:

An employee at the Thatcham Sorting Office was arrested in connection with thefts relating to bank cards, etc. And that he was apparently targeting me!!!

For my company I use collect+.

I've been using them for 3 years now and yes, parcels have been lost a handful of times, but they will sort you out for the courier cost and the cost of the item as long as you have covered the item for the necessary amount and have proof of cost (invoice).

last year there charges went up and i was considering using myhermes, but for the sake of 50 pennies more a parcel, i decided to stay.

You can't beat a company with good customer service and a great refund policy, but I guess that's why they charge a slight premium.

Before Collect plus i was using the post office as it was cheaper but when they lost a parcel and I had to go through the whole refund process...... for them to offer me a refund of stamps, I decided I had to look for an alternative.

Will your refund be monetary or bloody stamps, RM are slippery @#$! at the best of times.

Yes its an eBay item so I hope I am covered that way.

Funnily enough you mention that Jay as my local postman was sacked in the summer as he had a habit of stealing parcels!

Nightmare!

Having had two parcels go missing in the same week I think I will certainly reconsider using RM again!

Can anyone shed any light on how long it takes for them to pay out?
