Hi, Just wanted to know if this is normal or not.
Holding the car on the brakes at lights, junctions etc the car doesn't creep forward (down to the fact its being held back by all four brakes) but when on a hill I'll use the hand brake and the car then fights against it and creeps forward/squats down a fraction before the brake holds. Its good for hill starts as the car doesn't roll back before taking off so is this a DSG hill start thing or is there something else to it?
Ta.

personally i slowly release the break pedal and that stops the car rolling back.

I asked a similar question when I got my DSG.
Not used to autos creeping, the general opinion was to put the DSG into "N" and apply the Hand Brake.
Hill starts I do use the Hand Brake again - like you would in a manual.
As RR says treat the DSG as a manual!!!
Hope this helps a little.
