Title: Optional extras from chassis number
Post by: Mako V12V on September 29, 2009, 10:49:11 pm
Who could tell me what, if any, optional extras are fitted to an Ed 30 from the chassis number ONLY? It's for my potential purchase but haven't seen the car yet and dont want to ask the seller (dont ask!).

Edited to ask:-
1) What is Highline and what's it look like?
2) What makes up the Lux pack?
3) What makes up the winter pack?

Cheers - Phil

This website can help but you have to have the full code. The sticker's in the handbook and in the boot under the carpet.

clicky (http://www.igorweb.org/equidec/Default.aspx)

Other than that, you'd have to ask the dealer.

I've managed to find out today the car i'm looking at on Saturday has options of Rear Tints and Armrest, only. Bit disappointing but hey ho!

Also, does the Ed30 have a service interval of 1yr/12000 miles or is it one of these that counts the miles down to your service and can vary dependent on how the car's been used?

ED30's are normally on Variable servicing regime which has a maximum of just over 18k miles.  Like most VW's they can be put on fixed (10k) intervals.

Would you like me to check the chassis no?

I've looked up the chassis number you sent -

It's a 2008 MY 3 Dr Candy White built 02 April 08.

Some highlights -

6 Speed Manual
Socket in the boot (not sure if that's standard)
TPM (Isn't that part of a package - Winter?)
Electric Lumber Support
Heated Seats
Footwell Lights
Darkened Rear Windows
Heated Electric Mirrors
Without Navigation
Without PDC
Radio with CD/MP3
Low Beam Assistant with Coming Home
Rain Sensor
Without Cruise Control
Without Washer Fluid Level Indicator
Non Smoking Package
Multi Function Display (onboard computer)
Without Heated Washer Nozzles
Armrest
Safety Headrest System

QG1 - Longlife Servicing

All in all seems a pretty basic spec car.

Thanks for that Stu. So you're saying my new car is a crappy basic model then  :signLOL:

I didn't want a sunroof, dont really need xenons - can always upgrade the bulbs, wouldn't have minded sat nav and cruise but these can always be retro fitted.

Packs?? I'm confused. I've heard of winter and lux packs - are these options too on an Ed30? I assume mine doesn't have these?

Winter pack and Lux pack were both optional extras.  HOWEVER the Edition 30 comes with three (I think) out of the four bits that make up the winter pack as standard.  It has the heated seats, heated mirrors and low-level washer warning - just lacks the heated washer jets from what I remember.  I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong?

Got a feeling this one doesn't have low level warning for the washers.

Edit - Yes I'm right, I listed it above, doh

Ah yes but mine has added common sense.

When I pull the washer stalk and the windows stay dry I fill the damn things up.  :booty:
