Title: fitting factory bluetooth into a factory headunit
Post by: andybon on February 15, 2014, 12:24:00 pm
Right, I have a RCD510 with dab, and also an mdi kit for the iPod and was wandering what I needed to put the factory Bluetooth into this.

I have a midline clock display with the steering wheel controller part number 1k0 953 549 bc and the canbus controller 1k0 907 530k.

What do I need to do this as I have phoned a couple of dealers and they say it is not possible at all and tried to sell me a stand alone one which wasn't what I wanted.

So which one would be the best, Cant work it out as it just shows you the different ones!

Would this one be suitable?

Or this one?

If both are suitable, Which one would be the best to go for in terms of options?

I currently have a mfd2 in mine and no mfsw, highline spec but how would you go about finding exactly what you need to retrofit the Bluetooth?  Apologies for hijacking the thread.

All sorted with this, managed to get a unit and it was plug and play, been on nearly 12 months and works perfectly!

Looking for ideas for the car now. Have in mind a gti steering wheel, highline clocks, rear parking sensors and maybe a leather interior with heated seats.

Either that or just get rid of it altogether  :scared:
