A friend of mine has a 2008 2ltr gt sport tdi with 80k on it and it's developed a little problem. When it's warm and warming up and I am sat in it at a set of traffic lights or similar. It almost feels like a judder through the engine. It's fine when driving but when stationary it's enough to make me move in the drivers seat. When it judders and I blip the pedal it goes away but can come back. It's under warranty and going back Monday but just wondered what you experts may think. Don't think it's dmf and I am just concerned incase he gets the fob off

It's hard without driving it but if it idles like a slight misfire and has a pulse through the clutch pedal I would go for DMF.
My first move would be to bleed the slave cylinder and see if there's any change in the fault characteristics!

Cheers bud.

this was my first thought also to check the clutch

Is it the GT TDi 140 or 170, if the latter check the injector recall has been done.
My previous GT TDI 170 had a slight judder on idle when warm which despaired once the injectors were replaced.

Former. The 140. Apparently all recalls have been done. Dmf looks the likely suspect then.
