Title: ***Deep-Shine Detail*** Pitch Blue Metallic Matt Vinyl Wrap Audi A3 Air-Ride!!!

Well here is another Vinyl wrapped Audi A3 we have recently completed at Deep-Shine Detail.  :smiley:

Audi A3 Receives a full colour change wrap @ Deep-shine Detail to Pitch Blue Metallic Matt.

The A3 under went the usual full safe wash and contamination process then was moved inside and fully clayed to remove bonded more stubborn contaminates & Dried using a hot air blower before being fully stripped down in preparation for wrapping.

The car was then prepared properly fully removing and striping all trim, bumpers, mirrors, spoiler and lights etc to ensure the best application of the wrap as possible.

Door Handle Recesses post heated to 90 degrees to change the memory of the vinyl to ensure it holds its new shape.

Door handles and bump strips etc that were removed are fully cleaned, old adhesive strips removed, wrapped, new 3m adhesive tape applied and re fitted.

Cut tape is used at every opportunity possible to avoid any cutting onto the cars   paint. As the A3 Roof runs flush the cut tape is essential to create a safe and accurate join.

Due to a bad repair on the original tailgate a new one was sourced so this was fully prepared, wrapped and refitted.

Carlo ensuring the relevant areas are post heated to the correct temperature and carefully monitoring with a infra red thermometer

Hi mate, thanks for the compliments and yes it's a young Lincoln lad.  :happy2:

It will look totally different with his "Show Wheels" on. (10.5" rears)  :surprised:

The cut tape is awesome. Basically it's a 3mm wide tape with a filament running down one edge.
You run the tape where you want to cut a line or a curve etc and press it on firmly, leaving excess cut tape overhanging at each end. Then you lay your vinyl over the cut tape and again press firmly using cards/gloves etc.
Then using a knife carefully separate the filament on one end of the cut tape.
With a very firm hold of the filament pull confidently through the vinyl in a clean movement all the way to the other end.
Then remove the vinyl off cut and the remains of the cut tape.

Job done.  :smiley:

mine is in the paint shop at the mo getting the wings done but would mine doing at some point

Hi Rob, well as a rule door shuts are cut-taped so that there is about 15mm all round!

Obviously if the customer wants door shuts doing it can be done.

On the A3 James had quite a trick Boot build with all the air-ride tanks, amps, subs etc and he wanted all the boot shuts wrapping for shows etc  :happy2:

Also he bought another tailgate in white (due to the condition of the original) :sick:
-so we wrapped the whole thing inside too.

As you can imagine, door shuts and boot shuts can be very time consuming. :wink:

Went to UD yesterday with James in this and the quality of the wrap is unreal!

Having done my fog lights last week god knows how you do a whole car i struggled with that  :signLOL:
