Title: stage 2 question
Post by: BMX on October 01, 2009, 06:35:43 pm
stage recomends exhaust and airfilter

i have the exhaust in hand jetex 3 inch turbo back , but my question is do i really need a filter, in my years of experience the panel filters didnt seem to do a thing so always reverted to paper, i expect its the design of the box etc. can i stage 2 remap with just a tbe?

personally mate i would get a cold air induction system bolted in rather than a panel filter if your contemplating stage2  :happy2:

CAI is a must if your wanting to make full use of stage 2. A good one can give around 15bhp and increase top end power

stg 2 will run great without an intake, so does stg 2+ for that matter, but there are more gains to be had from using an intake. I know loads of people who run stg2 with no intake and they run great and make really good figures VTEC and Luca to name a couple :happy2:

You can go stage 2 without having to get an uprated intake.

for stage 2 you NEED the exhaust but not the intake. Same with stage2+ you NEED the exhaust and HPFP but not the intake

i have stage one map with CAI and intercooler making 350 bhp, my twin k1 has stage 2+ with NO CAI, fuel pump, NO cooler, making 320 ish  bhp..

The CAI (induction kit) was one of the BEST breathing mods i could of done.

yes it gets rid of the engine cover, but performance wise its a great bit of kit, the car can now breathe freely.

I recomend the BSH truseal kit!

After fitting a Neuspeed CAI I noticed healthy gains straight away.
Removing it for its dealer service made the gains even more noticable.... it felt like I had lost 20bhp !!
