Title: TTRS/RS3 calipers & 345mm discs
Post by: big eck on February 20, 2014, 01:07:09 am
Am I right on thinking that the TTRS & RS3 calipers are the same unit.

If they are is it possible to run them with the 345mm r32/Cupra discs???

Ttrs and rs3 calipers are the same yes but in order to fit the 345mm discs you need a fitting kit which I read today that vrs Alex supply's so I gave him a PM already just waiting on reply

Just got a reply, cheers Alex.

Now on the hunt for some calipers, always wanted to run a set of these but the fact that TTRS discs are expensive and crap put me off.

I've sent you a pm Alex.

Are they that much better than the standard calipers as I've been told its the discs that your better off changing.

Vagbremtechnic Limited Sales Department....(AKS Tuning Lol ) has these in stock now, by all means I can sell you one or Alex can sort you out.

Its a good solution, the caliper is fairly skinny so I would suggest that a 10mm spacer will support most wheels, the fact that TTRS calipers are all over ebay like horse$hit on a country road makes the bracket viable to make. We havent made loads and stock is skinny. Im hoping to get the price down fairly soonish but they're a techy bracket to machine as they're a little more involved than the NQS bracket which is fairly "angular" to make (Read straightforward).

The TTRS bracket is a derivative of the CC1013 bracket we made for motorsport purposes and from memory theres not a straight edge on it so load paths are considered and its very strong.

If anybody is interested the next drawing/product  off the Mazak miller that made these brackets was off a mounting frame for a V6 engine with a clever turbo designed for a very quick car sponsored by a certain drinks company that will give you wi-iiings......

Kit price is £250 inc VAT which includes the special fine thread uber secure M12x1.25 pitch bolts, washers, HEL Lines. Its not cheap but not expensive, they're anodised so they'll last and they've also got V section helicoils which means that the threads won't wear out like the ebay bracketry which is important not now but when they've recycled through our classified section 4 times.... (I know of one NQS kit which is on its 6th owner by now - threads still like new....)

Hoping to get the price down a little bit like we did with the NQS going forward when we've gauged interest, my website is going live in three weeks so you'll be able to buy them from there as well. Ive been like Lord Lucan riding Shergar for the last 3 months so I'm glad everybody has been buying from AKS, he's on account and we can ship stuff to him in my absence.

Rumour has it he can wield a spanner and ratchet like a good'un too or have stuff shipped directly for self fit
