evening all.
I have noticed when ppl buy there mk5 being a gti or edition, that 2 things are getting changed on the engine crank case and a sensor on the engine why is this?

That is the the diverter valve, people change them because the early ones were prone to splitting and therefore a loss of power. The latest ones (G revision and previous D revision) are made differently!
On the GTI they are under the engine area, edition 30/Pirelli they are up top

thanks for letting me much help. due to having a 07 gti would this have the later type?

Think that's about the time they changed over. Have a search. Depends on the types of turbo. KO3 was underneath and takes half hour. KO4 on the top and takes minutes.
