Hi
I have spoken to local company about refurbishing my Pescara's from my Steel Grey Ed30.
They've offered me a very good price for all 4 wheels but not to the standard colour, basically I could get them done in a choice of silvers.
However I could get them done in the standard colour for an additional £40 as he would have order the paint in especially.
Has anyone got any advice to help me decide which route to go down?
Cheers

Genuine colour wheels are always easier to sell in the future. As is a car with them fitted. If you have them done in nipple pink (for example) then you're gonna be stuck trying to sell a car with wheels like that on. :jumpmove:
-
Haha, nipple pink was an option of mine too
I was just thinking whether a standard silver would be acceptable. I know some people have silver BBS alloys on ED30's which looks decent. Anthracite was another option for an additional £20 but am not convinced with this colour on a darker car

^^^^ I have both. My Pescara's are Gun metal Grey and my BBS VZ's are hyper silver, both look good IMO.
The Pescara's are a pain to get the right colour, sorry, I mean impossible.
No point getting them done in their OEM colour as NO ONE knows what it is and I'd be VERY sceptical if your chap doing the refurb knows as VW wouldn't tell me. :sad1: Peeps have tried VW Titan Grey Metallic, supposed to be the closest but IIRC may be too dark.
I did my original set in Gum Metal Grey, looked the nuts, slightly darker than they were originally but if I kerbed them they could be easily repaired without trying to find the matching colour all over again.
Anywho, here's one I found on the interweb a couple of years back, no idea if they are the genuine colour but........

Standard every time, looks so much better. When I was looking for my car, if a car had anything other I would skip it.

I wouldn't go standard I'd go something different but subtle still

Standard every time. But that's my personal taste.

Thanks mate. The company asked me to get the paint code from VW and then he would order the paint for an additional £40 but by the sounds of it that wont be possible, if anything I'd like to go lighter rather than darker. I think lighter wheels look better on Steel Grey where as darker alloys suit other colours better, just my opinion.
Is hyper silver a BBS colour or VW?

Like the wheels in your signature, silver very suited to Steel Grey in my opinion, is that your car?
-
Hyper Silver is a BBS Colour, although like all BBS colours its notoriously hard to match.
My BBS VZ's in Hyper Silver....

My Pescara's in Gun Metal Grey, very similar to the VW Titan Grey......

Any colour that takes your fancy, providing it's done well. Mine with standard colour...

And gunmetal. Much better I think. Don't get too stuck 'original is best'. Most people would rather a high quality finish in a well chosen colour rather than a poor finish in an original one. Nothing wrong with original at all. #justsayin :signLOL:
