Hi I have recently purchased a edition 30
And it has a dvd nav stereo I have tried searching and can not find the same one to get its model number.
My alternator has packed in and now the stereo asks for a code :sad1:
Will charge me for a new code? It is the factory fit stereo that come in my car
Thanks in advance (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fyy66%2FAaronPumaVCT%2F20140222_014209_zpsnwqp8kiq.jpg&hash=fec956d5b998e8e30f940b609ef345d26648b026)

It really depends on the dealership, some do and some don't.

Ok Thank you guys.
In In my experience for anyone near there Crawley seem to have the best customer service for a dealer I have ever come across.
Motor line volkswagen Crawley.
I will go to them if my local won't help me

Vw may not be able to get the code for you as it looks like that is not the factory unit. If your car had satnav from the factory it would have the high line display and your car only has the midline. If the unit was retrofitted somebody may have written the code on top of the unit.
They might be able to get the code for the stereo but would have to remove it to look at its serial number, for this I think there is a charge. If the unit was fitted from the factory they could simply look it up in their database.

VW have sorted if for free and seem to believe that is the factory fit unit?
