Title: Thermostat/ engine warming up times

Another question out of curiosity - I've an 06 GTI. How quickly should it get to 90degrees from cold in this kind of winter weather? Just wanna make sure mines working efficiently!

I have just change all three thermostats and mine now takes 3 - 4 miles of steady 40mph driving

Mine was taking approx 30 mins before i changed main thermostat, now it takes approx 15 minutes however i am doubting my in line stats which should make it quicker to warm up once changed

As per my link. That's your main stats seized open. Mine took 2 miles this morning on the way to work as 6am

Oh  :surprised: l think mine definitely needs changing takes a good 15/20 miles to heat up even then it does not go to 90 all the time.

I had the same, changed main thermostat and it was taking 12 miles to 90 @ 60mph. Found the thread about the bypass thermostats :drinking:, bought one got it changed last week and now is at 90 in 3 miles at 60.
