Title: Stage 2 Hardware Requirements

I can't find the post that I'd originally seen that listed the parts required for a Stage 2 Remap on an ED30/Pirelli DSG. Could you let me know what's required please?

As I understand it. R-Tech Stages differ with regards to hardware compared to other tuners.

Answering my own question it seems I need a TBE, Upgraded Intercooler and Induction Kit.

For stage 2 I would go TBE and induction kit. These will work hand in hand and Niki will get some good gains at this stage if using decent hardware.

I would only really add inter cooler at stage 2+ as it's more for safety really with the addition of an upgraded hpfp

Hello,  we do custom mapping unique to each hardware setup so we don't state must have hardware at each stage.  All we say to customer is work out a budget and power range you want then plan from there.   The power comes from getting the hardware flowing it's best, the more research and reading you do the more you will gain and "could" end up saving money as the expensive brand name bolts are not always the best for flow/power.

Stage 2 u can get away with just induction kit and downpipe Decat.   To get the higher numbers and more area under the curve at stage 2 you would want to go full exhaust, decent induction kit, fmic ect and also budget for a clutch.

Ball is on your court in regards to hardware, but remember with mapping the hardware is always the limiting factor.

At the mo I'm looking at a BCS TBE Powervalve with Motorsport Cat. Induction Kits is where I'm a bit stuck as I'd prefer something relatively quiet. Car will have DSG so no need for clutch etc.

Not after chasing big BHP figures as I want useable power and with a linear throttle map.

They're all on my list but which is quietest? Not after scaring the local wildlife. :smiley:

I have one of Niki's linear maps, a BCS Powevalve with a REVO CAI, it's slightly quieter than my previous ITG Maxogen and a different sound than my previous EVOMS CAI but as the man above says, non are quiet, just different levels of noise. You'll not notice it most of the time, besides with the Powervalve doing its thing on WOT you won't hear it anyway.

ITG is a induction which works really well at all stages of tune, as for exhaust the BCS power valve system is a nice setup, sound dulled down on cruise, but when on boost a little valve opens up and it gets louder :-). Both Items flow well and make decent numbers

Why does nobody recommend the forge twintake? The pipe work looking at it is the same diameter as the itg if not better flowing with 2 inlets into 1, surely is it just the filters restricting?

Yeah maybe but if you already have one like me, the question I'm asking regarding flow rate to niki is why are they supposed to not be as good as the itg? The pipe work is the same?? Must be restrictive filters?

Twintake uses silly restrictive enclosed filters, one gets blocked up with road debri straight away and the other stays looking like brand new.   This exact same filters caused no end of flow issues on the 1.8 t around the. 210hp mark with the cda setups (running 1 filter).   Then by design you want a induction kit pipe with a decent size diameter to reduce the air drag effects, the twintake is small compared to itg and kit.   It's all about the flow..
