Right guys, I need at least one front tyre. I would LOVE to get the Eagle F1's but it's not financially viable right now, and I don't want to go budget. What do you guys recommend?
-
What's your budget and 17's or 18's? F1's are only £95 per corner for 18's on camskill at the moment and vreds are £87
-
225/40/18 is the profile. Sorry.
For the Eagle I would have to get them fitted so it would work out the same price as buying them from my local. My budget would be around £75 / corner fitted. It's not a lot, I know, but I am so financial screwed. :( I might even need a new CV joint...

Hankook evo's? Vred's? Really wouldnt go any lower.
-
i've just put parada's on mine, 100 quid a corner, awesome in the dry, scary in the wet
-
Prefer my Sessantas to the Assy2s
-
Where are you. I recently got that size on my mk4 R32. £100 for yokohammas and £105 for Bridgestone potenza. I am Redditch. I know a good local guy
-
Camskills mate, very cheap and next day delivery :happy2:

Alright thanks. These aren't much cheaper than the Assym's Where are you. I recently got that size on my mk4 R32. £100 for yokohammas and £105 for Bridgestone potenza. I am Redditch. I know a good local guy
I am in Devon, haven't lived anywhere near Redditch for 18 years :pCamskills mate, very cheap and next day delivery :happy2:
I know about Camskill, I am just deciding on what to get. They have some tyres for £38.50. It's like they want people to crash.
-
If budget is a struggle, Black circle tyres allow you to pay over 12 month's to spread the cost. I did that and it only cost me £26 more than buying out right. Plus they were fitted and I got 1000 tesco club card points, which kept the missis happy :happy2:

Ive always found Kumho tyres excellent both in quality and price
they are massively underated IMO
blackcirles do some good deals also

:signLOL: I used to run them and yep scary as fck in the wet
-
I ran Toyo Proxes for 3-4 years, could not fault them for grip/wear for a mid-market tyre

I had some Kumho Ecstas on years and years ago (probably close to 7-8 years now) and they were pretty good for what they were. Probably best bet if you're after a decent sporty midline tyre IMO.

Not sure if you got tyres sorted but I have x4 Goodyear F1 Aysm 2's coming off mine shortly. They were purchased 19/6/2013 and have 7.00mm on the front and 7.5mm on the back. £340.
I'm changing to Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

pilot supersport in 225/40/18 92y xl are on back order they should be available from mid/late march.
Camskills update their prices daily, direct from michelin - currently supersports prices will be less than I paid last year for ps3.
-
That's an impressive price....did this drop today? I checked prices earlier and was sure that wasn't what I saw. Guess I'll have to put them up for less! Bet they go back after I do that :chicken:

Hi, what does anyone think to Avon ZZ5?
-
I've used avon zv5s and zz3s on my last few VAG cars. The zz3 is a more aggressive softer tyre by offers good value performance. Have zv5s on the rear at mo and are good.
Soft tyre but good grip. They don't last too long though:)

Well if your financial problem is long term you may have to put with some Kendras for the meanwhile. Those are the tyres on my cupra at the moment their like £90 for a pair on ebay or if u get into your local tyre dealer their like £65 a tyre. You may have to give late speed braking a rest for a while as the ABS works a lil bit harder on these tyres
-
Camskill may still be an option. Some garages don't charge much for fitting. Mine charge around a fiver per tyre which is cheap. This may be because how frequently I use them got repairs also:)

I much prefer Michelin PS3's to Goodyear eagle F1 Ass2's-ran both I'll be going back to PS3's when these Goodyears are done, it's horses for courses but I think PS3's have a much more rigid sidewall and better wet weather grip
