Title: Total VW noob from Chesterfield
Post by: !tf on February 24, 2014, 05:53:16 pm
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen.  Just took my first lunge into the Volkswagen world last Friday with a 2005 MK5 GTI in red. Totally standard. True to form when it comes to me buying a car i already have a P0441 fault code and the washer jet bottle thingy is leaking(diagnosed by adding Kool-Aid to the water. Tasty!)  I was looking at the Focus ST as well as the GTI but the ST just felt too chavy. I don't even wear tracksuits so, probably not a good look for me. I have pretty much driven Vauxhalls for the last 7 of my 8 years driving and i have become tired of being sh*t on. My last car was a Vectra C 1.9cdti(150) and it cost my over £2500 in repairs in just under three years. I was quite surprised at how big the golf feels inside, I come in at 6ft 5" and just under 20 stone and despite being maybe a little too wide for the GTI's seats, its the comfiest i have ever driven.

Notice the wet patch under the wheel where my washer bottle has given up.

First week has been so much fun in this car. Fitting my headunit on Saturday hopefully.
