Title: Standard RCD & AUX cable
Post by: GTI.Dav on February 27, 2014, 08:46:14 am
I recently fitted an aux cable to my standard RCD headunit. I have the iPod dock I the glovebox so unplugged that a replaced with the aux.

...It doesn't work. Someone said I'd need to get it tuned in by VW. Is this true or can anyone help me out?

Thanks
David

You need to get someone with a VCDS (VAG-Com) Cable to plug it into your car, go to the CAN Gateway and tick the box saying you have an AUX in fitted.

VW have the cable/program so yes they can do it, for a price. Find a local member on this forum that will be willing to do it for free.  :happy2:

If you sort the wiring correctly, you can leave the MDI in and have AUX as well.
But you need to enable these features in the RADIO and also central electrics.
