Title: Genuine stamps
Post by: Tommyt90 on February 27, 2014, 06:47:27 pm
Just bought a gti bumper it has stamps but I'm curious and think I  have been jibbed. Where are they on the front bumper and what should it say. Any signs for it to be a aftermarket

It will have a VW part number for starters and a build date table

Have a look at this link it shows the parts and numbers you should find on each component pieces.

http://www.partscats.info/volkswagen/en/?i=cat_vag_models&brand=vw&number=1714&set=1728&ein=2007&f=474&hauptgr=1234567890&hg=8&grf=080700420&bf=80700&hgug=807&ug=07&parent_id=2348962

It shows the part number 1K0 807 217 F  GRU - for primed bumper cover for item 13 for 2007 golf but GTI  would be the same number just letter changes from F to R etc.
