Title: Faded Front Grills
Post by: Gobytibbs on February 28, 2014, 07:00:39 am
Giving the front end the once over before the summer months. Both the upper and lower grills on the front bumber are faded and need a good refurb. Does anyone have a good refurb product or would I be better off spending the time removing the grills and spraying them?

Thanks

The black plastic fades over time due to UV light IIRC so I tend to "reblacken" by cleaning them individually and then applying trim dressing. Needs to be done every few months to keep it looking good.

Plastikote is good stuff if you want to paint the grills. lasts well I did mine 12 months ago and still looking great
 Give them a good clean/dry beforehand :happy2:

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Soot, did you go straight in with the plastikote after cleaning or did you use a primer first?

Primer with Gloss paint   No primer with Matt. :happy2:   I think they do a lacquer  but  I didn't use it
