Title: Summer has ended
Post by: danishmkvgti on October 04, 2009, 07:19:00 pm

Well after a couple of days with rain and stormy weather i decided on getting the wintertyres on the car.
Now it's time to plan next years mods  :drinking:

Does anyone store their pride and joy for the winter?

I wonder what sort of mileage people on here are averaging per year?

I've just turned 30k on my 2007 Ed 30.

I won't be using it in the crappy weather especially now it's cleaned up.

No. The GTI demands to be driven. Even in snow!

Yup -driven everywhere all the time - haven't got the luxury of it being a second car. 30k on my 2008 here, although this pales into insignificance when looking at SteveP's mileage!

driven all the time done 17k in 12 months. as for the mk2 that only does about 6k a year.

We are lucky enough not to have to use our Ed in the crappy weather too!  Just had it's annual service this morning 2148 miles, since new!  :happy2:

I'm thinking about getting some steelies for the winter.

Mine get used daily, by the wife and kids, not sure why you would want to limit the mileage in an ED30, it's an everyday car and meant to be used. Had mine just over two months and covered 4500 miles in it. Mind you 2000 was on my trip to the south of France.

Loving every minute of it as well.

The R is amazing in the snow mate! I just drove up a slope all the FWD'ers had to stay down the bottom as they kept sliding back  :signLOL:

In the winter I get my other half to drive me everywhere in the 500. Save Loads on petrol, and plenty of overtime also as im a gas engineer, meaning plenty of mods for the car ready for the summer. Winter does have its advantages lol.
