Title: Help with xenon shutter wire?
Post by: STV4R on March 05, 2014, 11:04:50 am
This weekend when i get my car back I'm going to be fitting my xenon headlights, but i have no idea where to run the wire for the shutters.
So if someone could be kind enough and take a few photos of where they run their wires in the engine bay it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

Just google fitting xenons on mk5 golf..lots of write ups on there
The wires basically run from the 12 pin harness at the lamp to the cecm in under the steering wheel..
Is your car a highline option??

I know the shutter wires have to run to the CECM. What i want to know is where do you run the wires around the engine bay? so it looks nice and tidy and what should i wrap the wire up with?
All the guides i find dont really show where to run the wires. They just show they need to connect to pin D/6 and A/5 in the CECM and yes i have highline
thanks

I ran them parallel to the bonnet pull cable, if you wrap it in harness tape first it looks tidy; just enough room to tuck it under the trim that holds the cable. Then just go through the bulkhead and into the drivers footwell.

Sounds good
