I've got a golf mk5 Tdi 2.0l BKD 6speed
Ive been having some issues lately with selecting first gear and sometimes getting out of first gear in slow moving traffic
Best way to describe it is the gear stick just won't push into first (asif I'm not using the clutch) sometimes it won't even come out of first gear
I've also noticed it seems to do it when then I've been in the car a while and in slow moving traffic
Today It started doing it again I worked out if I put the car in 3rd pull out then put it in 1st it goes in gear every time :s
I've
Reset the gear links
New clutch
New flywheel
New concentric slave cylinder
New master cylinder behind the pedal
New fluid
I'm now beginning to guess this is a gearbox issue
Can anyone please shed some light on this
Many thanks
Jordan

By the sound of it ...it probably will be gearbox related, as you have done a lot already..try new gear oil for the gearbox. Probably sincro/ bearing wear. Cheapest opt is get 2nd hand one..

I wonder how many miles the vehicle has covered?

Sounds like your in my boat pal, new gearbox needed :sad1:
