Hi Guys, my wife has just rung me to say that she cannot get into the car using the remote key fob. Nothing happens at all when the button is pressed. She said she can open the door using the actual key but then nothing further.
Does this sound like just a battery replacement or is there a way of resetting the keyfob or something ? obviously i'm not there at the moment so she is a little bit worried. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. There has been no prior warning the key fob battery may need replacing either !!!
P.S what batteries do I need to replace. Its a Mk5 GTi 2006 model ?
Thanks

I'm going to take a wild guess that the key fob battery has died?

Cheers CHRISR763,
I assume that is exactly what is wrong as well but as she was in a bit of a panic and i'm not there I just wondered if it could be anything else or perhaps there was something else she could do. Thanks for the reply anyway, do you know what batteries I will need ? :happy2:

I have a Duracell DL2032 in mine, could also be called a CR2032 depending on battery make.

Check the boot is shut properly. And all the doors. Sounds daft but when I First got my car this happened to me. Turns out it was the boot not shut all the way, and the sensor didn't pick it up

Thanks man, appreciate that.
