Right, picked up a set of caps at weekend.
Went to fit them today and the oil cap doesn't fit, i have no engine cover so my filler neck is removed and the outside diameter is too big.
Anybody else had this issue and has anyone else just filed it down a little?
-
This is interesting... I have a brand new one sat in the garage waiting to go on..
-
Its because you have the neck removed. The cap wont fit. Fits if you have the neck.
-
I have one sitting there ,no good to me either..i bought the r8 cap which fits perfect
Mine is a tdi if it makes any difference

Well managed to get this to fit today..

Ended up filing the edges of the cap to make it fit as i had it.
Just need my black washer cap to turn up from AKS and bay will look better

Hey @shoaybmakda (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=12148) the top clips off the cap it self as I had one on my tt which was slightly angled so clipped it off and fitted it straight.

Thanks @r5gtt (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=11199) I'll have a bash at it tomorrow :happy2:
