Title: Looking to buy my first gti

Hello, I'm looking to buy my first mk5 gti, don't really want to spend more than £8000, but what do I need to look out for ? Does milage really mater and what year ?

You should easily get a really good example of a MK5 GTI for that money. Wouldn't worry too much on mileage as condition is more important. Check it has a full service history along with cambelt and DSG oil change if applicable. A lot of the common problems on these cars like the DV and PCV are relatively cheap fixes luckily.
