I noticed the other day when searching around for pictures of Aftermarket Intakes on 1.4 TSI Engines that my Engine bay seemed to be missing a part and wondered if anyone could advise me of what it is and if I can purchase it anywhere.
Pic below of the engine on the left with the part marked and my engine on the right without it

Well it is a good point you mention that as I have only had my 6 months and after 3 months it had to have a brand new engine fitted. However I cannot remember or notice if this part was on the original engine as apart from replacing the engine has not been in the garage for anything else.
Is this a part that is imperative as would not be good for the engine without or would fail an MOT etc as if so then should have been on when bought so either it was not or it was and they have not replaced it when replacing the engine.

its a heat shield to stop you burning your self on the turbo when you open the bonnet , it will still be hot but not as hot as the turbo and also I expect it protects the bonnet paint from damage I would fit another one asap , don't think it will effect the running on the engine

Cheer mate. Likely if will not effect the engine in terms of damage then likely not needed for an MOT then so might not have been on the car from the day I bought it. I will ring my garage and see if the ca replace.
Thanks :happy2:
