Title: Decat on stage one, Problems???
Post by: Steffrallye on March 16, 2014, 11:09:08 pm
im currently on stage 1 Revo map, and looking to go stage 2+.

so question is will fitting a decat before a second map cause me any problems or is it already part of the software.

Also im a big kid still at heart, whats the noise change like? im running miltek non res cat back atm, love the tone and that its quiet when i wont but roars when you hit the go pedel. But the lack of pops and bangs doesnt get the heart fluttering as much lol. compared to the bangs from RS's and the horrid VXR's lol.

Decat will be fine. Will throw up the cell light but that will come off when mapped again. The tfsi engines don't like to bang and pop much, but adding a decat to your already non resonated Milltek will make it alot more shouty on full chat :happy2:

That's fine, I'll just clear the codes every now and again.
Thanks for the help

When I first fitted my de-cat to my non- mapped car it ran 100 miles before the cell light came on. After a battery disconnect it reset it and lasted another 100 miles.
If you have DSG with the decat it sounds great on gear change, especially after a map.
