£499 + VAT = £599.

They usually do a 20% sale a couple of times a year or cheaper at a show if REVO are there or get a custom map!

Not sure of places in your area but if you're not in a massive rush they should have a nationwide sale on in the summer around GTI international dates  :happy2:

Usually 20% discounts

Is a Revo that much better than R-tech?. Does R-tech go to inters?

I think Niki - R-tech does go to Inters but not to map cars.

You will get roughly the same headline figures from any tuner. Revo, APR, superchips are all generic maps, although Revo has an element of adjustability to it.

If you get a Revo map installed at GTI Inters it won't be setup properly as they won't have an opportunity to log the car as it's driving and optimise the settings so really you will have to go to a local agent to get the most out of it.

So to answer your question, Revo is no better than R-Tech, Revo is a bigger brand (if your into all that), R-Tech allow 3hrs to set your car up properly and tweak the map accordingly until Niki is happy he has got the best out of the hardware and most importantly - the customer is happy. I'd suggest you read the reviews across the forum and make up your own mind about where you want to spend your hard earned  :happy2:

Much better?? That made me chortle!  :signLOL:

REVO is a generic map and a R-Tech map is a custom map that is tailored to the customers requests. They both have a place in the world so its ETTO.

It just seems logical to have a map made to your car, rather than a map made for every car to then be applied to your car, which is not the same as every other car!

Price up it up, Stage 1 is £290 at R-Tech and whatever your fuel costs will be, plus the peace of mind that your cars hardware is being used optimally...(priceless).

Just my thoughts - this is what I intend to do when I buy a GTI (looking at a 300 mile round trip, and you know the journey home will be worth it!!)  :jumping:

I've got REVO and would go R-TECH next time.  Been in a same stage R-TECH GTI and prefer it.  From what I gather you'll have more input with Nikki and see what they're doing to your car and feel part of the whole process for half the cost of REVO.  When I had REVO I was left sat on a sofa for 40 mins and hadn't got a clue what they were doing for £600 quid all in coupled with being served by a lad who looked like a school leaver at Revo HQ.  I was disappointed with the whole process.  Don't get me wrong they were all very polite but I just didn't feel part of it all.

My Revo map is fine and fit for purpose I just wouldn't go back given what I know now.

Go for a road trip to R-tech  :happy2:

Predictably I'm going to say r tech....a friend has a stage 2+ GTI with revo software l, mine is r tech stage 2 gti and there is a massive difference between them both...mine drives nicer, much easier to get the power down, pulls a lot harder for longer and is better on fuel than his revo...... if you went for a revo or Apr within you will be happy with it.if you go to Niki then you will be much more than happy..
