Post by: Alexander on October 08, 2009, 05:39:03 pm
Ive got a steering wheel without MFSW buttons and the panel where the buttons would be has started peeling and looks

ready to be attacked with white plastic primer, candy paint and some lacquer, dont forget to sand between coats!

time for a top tip!  8)

get some cigarette packets and pinch them slightly on the top, the insert will now happily wedge onto them allowing you to spray all around it and stand it up while it dries, like so

mid spray

....aaaaaaaaaand we're done  :happy2:

blending in the rest of the trim gives you this:

I need to point out that if you have a  DSG steering wheel with flappy paddles and no MFSW controls, then these are held on with torx screws located under the airbag.

That looks sweet Very Cherry.  Can you still take them off for painting if you have the buttons on the steering wheel?
