Title: Umbrella Company recommendation

Just Secured a 6 month contract with GE Aviation and need to register with an Umbrella Company, this will be the first time i have contracted so don't know which is best. Appreciated all are pretty much the same (HMRC compliance at least) but some are i would imagine better than others.

Narrowed it down to.

I used these http://www.parasolgroup.co.uk never had any issues with them.

I also have used parasol in the past with no problems,  although I would go down the Ltd company route personally

if the contract extends past 6 months and there is every chance it will, maybe then I'll go down the route of a limited company.

If you go down the route of a limited company you  face IR35 issues

I did consider trading as a limited company but as the contract is only 6 months decided the easies option would be umbrella company. If the contract gets extended past the 6 months i might reconsider.

I used http://www.contractorumbrella.com for 3 years and as have a lot of colleagues. They are very good

Your input is really appreciated. I decided not to pursue the contract with GE and instead opted accepted an offer with Vodafone on a better day rate and longer duration. It does mean i will be commuting 90 miles a day but such is life  :smiley:
