Just thought I'd share this, unfortunately didn't get a picture as iPad died with the missus watching films the whole journey.
Anyway I drove 283 miles to visit my parents last night and I got 41.4 MPG! From lingfield to middlesbrough on the A1/A19 70-80mph the whole way.
I'm really chuffed with it and I only used just under half a tank of petrol :jumping:
What are you guys getting with mapped cars?

Great effort from an Ed30 there :congrats:
I got 40.5mpg driving Cheshire to Somerset last week, and a crazy 46mpg driving home from Ultimate Dubs.
And 18mpg this morning :driver:

Thanks mate yeah I'm mega chuffed with it I thought I'd be visiting Mr.V Power every 2 hours :signLOL:
I get crap mpg on the way to work in the mornings, I blame the back roads and lanes :driver:
How you finding your new toy ?

I'm really enjoying it, it's got so much more character than the K03 GTI

I got a mind boggling 42mpg on my standard today - considering I'm used to 25mpg I was speechless (admittedly doing 70 on the motorway). Be interested to see what sort of difference an r-tech makes

When I had my K03 GTI mapped at R-Tech it was just as good on fuel as when it was stock. Niki showed me the low-load (cruise) fuel mapping and it was the same as stock.
He did do some tricks with the mk4 1.8t engines where he could map them to run lean at a certain RPM, like at 70mph. He got them to do like 53mpg on a motorway run
If he could do that with the TFSI, that would be pretty cool

I was only ever used to high 20 low 30 mpg, I was shocked when I flicked through the trip comp
50's would be great id be really pleased with that

I'm sure that Is ' spirited ' driving to and from work in the Horsham dual carriageways :signLOL:

I never seen that when fully standard, it's weird that a tuned car that has more power etc achieves better mpg :driver:

I got 32ish driving down to St. Helens and back from Sunderland, that included hoofing it and then cruising.
