Title: neuspeed intercooler pipes and discharge pipe
Post by: Janner_Sy on October 09, 2009, 11:09:27 am
has anybody experienced any increase in output  after fitting the neuspeed intercooler pipes and turbo discharge pipes. i have just put a bid on the pair, as every little helps, but im interested to see if anyone has some ideas of gains achievable with them, or are they a waste of money

Think Robin may have them

I got a 4Bhp & 10lb/ft increase with the Turbo outlet pipe.

The intercooler pipe made negligible if any difference.

I went for the oettinger turbo discharge pipe.
This made a noticable difference in torque and felt much cleaner through the revs.

If you see a stantard turbo discharge pipe you will understand why.
It has a clumsy looking silencer built into it that restrics flow quite badly causing turbulance.
I will try and get a picture up.

....

Hi Sy,

Gaz is right, I've got both Neuspeed pipes on my car. I didn't do any dyno runs to see any difference but the engine felt more free-revving but without any power gains I could notice. I also replaced all the oem hoses with SAMCO silicone ones.

Their Intercooler kits work well too...I ran one on my old MKIV...KO3s with stage 2 mapping.

As companies go they are huge in the US...bigger than APR for sure and have a big R&D centre.

....I think it's their 'size' which slightly puts me off them. They sometimes produce things which the market finds virtually pointless. It would be totally unjustifiable for me to dis them but there's something which niggles me which I can't put my finger on yet.

I have a RR Graph of before and after the Turbo Discharge pipe was put on.

It didn't include the intercooler pipe as i have now Relocated the DV but the discharge pipe alone gave me 4bhp and 10lb/ft so i would imagine it would be somewhere around that figure for you Simon

See here:

Thanks guyz... so I take it's a worthwhile investment as my next mod? Or should I do something else?

It's an expensive option with little performance gain but it's your money...

^^^^
Frankly I didn't notice a lot of difference when I changed to both Neuspeed Discharge and Charge pipes. I was adding a Forge DV and had an opportunity for some very cheap SAMCO hoses and so decided to change the whole pipe/hose run in one session.

Freer revving is all I felt. So a question mark over whether it's worth the money. It's a good longterm preventative maintenance measure but not an essential or anything which will excite you.

id agree with that.
Id prob go for it as a last mod. its like the icing on a cake.

the reason i almost bought that was it was cheap.
